TIPS & TRICKS FROM THE PROS!

Following these simple steps before and after your appointment will ensure that your tan is perfectly even and lasts as long as possible.

BEFORE YOUR TAN

  • Use a body scrub to gently remove any dead skin and impurities.

    Glow Girl sells Norvell Glow System products, such as the Pre-Tan Exfoliator.

    Norvell recommends you:

    1. Gently use approximately 24-hours before your sunless session to produce maximum results.

    2. In a shower or bath, apply a liberal amount of product onto a washcloth. Desired results will not be achieved with bare hands.

    3. Gently massage over entire body, giving extra attention to elbows, knees, and feet.

    4. Rinse well.

    Once you have exfoliated the area, shave. Exfoliation prior to shaving ensures that you get the closest shave possible.

    You may also want to consider using the pH Balancing Shower Cleanser in following your exfoliation, or on the day of your tan.

  • Use a body butter or hydrating lotion immediately after your shower, to allow your skin plenty of time for absorption.

    Glow Girl sells Norvell Glow System products, such as the Skin Renewing Body Butter.

    Norvell recommends you:

    1. Warm a few drops of Skin Repairing Body Butter between palms and massage it from the ankles to the knees using upward strokes.

      Skin will be smooth and silky and legs will feel invigorated.

  • On the day of your tan, avoid using lotions of any kind. The only acception is using the pH Balance Enhancing Primer from the Norvell Glow System.

    Blend the primer tanning lotion evenly over desired areas before tanning.

AFTER YOUR TAN

  • Allow 8-10 hours for standard solutions, or 1-3 hours for RAPID solutions for the tan to SET on your skin.

    Glow Girl sells Norvell Glow System products, such as the Hydrofirm Setting Spray & Tan-luscent Setting Dust.

    Norvell recommends you:

    Hydrofirm setting spray can be applied with the tanning gun, or with the trigger bottle.

    1. Just after spray tan application, spray over entire area.

    2. Dries virtually instantly.

    3. After using the Norvell Hydrofirm Setting Spray, you may feel sticky in certain areas. This is not unusual and should not cause concern. For comfort, use our Tan-Lucent™ Drying Powder all over the body and extra tacky areas - under breasts and butt, behind knees, inside elbows and underarms.

    • Use drying powder immediately after sunless tanning session. This powder dries skin and is ideal for use all over the body, as it doesn’t settle into fine lines or pores.

    • Avoid sweating & showering for at least 8- 10 hours after your tan.

    • Avoid swimming in chlorinated water for 24 hours.

  • After your tan has finished setting, jump in the shower, and do a warm water RINSE only.
    DO NOT USE SOAP OR SHAMPOO during this rinse.

    If your solution contained bronzer, you will see it rinse off in the shower, do not panic! This is completely normal, and has no affect on the tan.

    Your tan will continue to develop for 24 hours.

    We prefer to sleep in our solution, rinse when we get up, and are always very happy with the results!

    We do recommend dark sheets if you are going to sleep in tanning solution often!

    Norvell recommends you:

    1. Warm a few drops of Skin Repairing Body Butter between palms and massage it from the ankles to the knees using upward strokes.

      Skin will be smooth and silky and legs will feel invigorated.

  • Use any gradual tanning lotion to extend the duration of your tan. We off the Norvell Prolong Color Extending Lotion & their Post-Tan Face Lotion.

    Use daily to keep your tan as long as possible.
